Bypass shower doors typically consist of a metal frame that run along the bottom and the two vertical sides of the unit. The two glass doors slightly overlap, and either roll or slide open. Usually there is also a metal track running horizontally along the top to stabilize the door movement and to reduce rattling. The bath industry calls them bypass shower doors, though they alternately call them sliding glass shower doors.
